Author name: Joshua Holt

I’m Joshua Holt—a husband, dad of four, and a man who's walked through both storms and sunrises. My wife Sue and I met online after Thanksgiving in 2000 and have been married for nearly 25 years. We began our parenting journey through foster care, eventually adopting our first two sons, and later welcoming two more children into our family. It's been a path filled with both challenge and deep joy. Along the way, I’ve wrestled with bipolar disorder and the questions that come with it—about faith, identity, and finding peace in the middle of emotional chaos. This site is where I share what I’ve learned (and am still learning) about mental health, hope, and holding on to God when life doesn’t make sense. I believe in being real, being rooted in Scripture, and never losing sight of grace. When I’m not writing or working behind the scenes in tech, you’ll find me planning light shows, dreaming up preparedness projects, or spending time with the people who mean the most to me. This space is for anyone who’s felt like they’re too much, not enough, or just plain tired—and is still looking for light.
